Poems

The app loads directly to the Daily list. Three top poems appear here every day so you can get your daily fix. You can also browse our Poems via artists without an internet connection. In latest you can see the most recent submissions by our users. Last but not least you can check out random poems if you’re so inclined.

We make it easy to find that special poem you’re looking for and once you do you can click on it to see more detailed information.

Poem

Here you can rate or discuss your favorites with your fellow authors. You can see more information about the poem, it’s creator, read the comments it contains and you can perform several actions.

Starting from left to right, you can like and dislike, add to favorites, share, and comment on every poem. You also have the option to scroll through the list that brought you to this page. Using the up and down arrows in the top right button you can see the next/previous poem.

Edit

You can submit your own poems by clicking on the notepad button when the app is first launched or from the submission screen. You just need the category the poem belongs in and the text. To view your newly submitted poem you can access the submission page through the main menu.

Not sure that you want to submit your poem just yet? No problem. Press cancel and saved the poem as a draft. You can access drafts from the submission screen and submit them at any time.

Main Menu

From the main menu you can access almost all important functionality. The “Apps” button, on the top-right of the page will show you all of the downshift apps so you can quickly change to any of our other products on the fly. Across from the app button you can access Account settings. On the actual page you can use the search function which allows you to search through, poems, users you are following, and all current users.

You can then go to any of the other pages, favorites, profiles, followers, etc.

Submission

Here you will find any poem you have ever submitted as well as any that you have yet to finish with the drafts option. Any submissions that have broken the terms of service will show up on the Rejected list. However, you have the opportunity to edit or delete any of your past and present submissions. Like most pages you have access to the search function but, you can also organize your submitted content by its category; the button is located next to the notepad in the top right.

Note: Drafts are stored on the device and will not show up on accompanying sites. Don’t depend on drafts. If you’re working on a great poem, submit it as soon as possible.

Search

Any place the search feature would be advantageous to the user, you will find it. Because the search feature is present on many pages throughout the app, the context of the items searched changes. For instance, if you search for items on the submission page, you will be given two choices; submitted or rejected poems.
